Shishu Collection | Introducing Punching Embroidery

A combination of Kyoto and Tokyo to represent the cohesion of modern and traditional Japan.

The complexities of punching embroidery

Our Shishu Patch series is made using the punching embroidery technique, also known as digitised embroidery. The complex process involves creating digital data used to instruct embroidery machines to create the desired designs. This requires a team with advanced skills and knowledge of creating data for their machinery.

family-Run business

Our Shishu patch series is produced by a family-run embroidery business established in 1991 with more than 30 years of experience. The founder first trained in the lace industry before establishing the workshop in Kyoto specialising in making giftware and souvenirs. The workshop team is led with the ideology of finding something that they are interested in and making something that only they can do.
