Japanese Green Tea / Sencha

Japanese Green Tea / Sencha

Sencha (煎茶) is a type of Japanese green tea, which is prepared by infusing whole tea leaves in hot water. It is the most consumed tea in Japan. Kyushu (九州) is the southern most island in Japan and consists of seven prefectures, many of which grow green tea. Kyushu Sencha brews a rich, soft cup. Once brewed, the flavour is mildly astringent and sweet, with a hint of cedar.
