Each ceramic bowl is handmade from Arita-cho, Japan resulting in the subtle differences in colour, design, and shape. With time, the bowls may develop a unique change in colour due to the high water absorbency of clay, making each plate personal to its owner.

The dark green glaze of this ceramic bowl results from mixing copper into an ash glaze. The name of this glaze is ‘Oribe’ (織部). Oribe who was an apprentice to Sen no Rikyu (千利休), the most famous tea master of the 16th century, favoured the dark green colour.
