Each ceramic bowl is handmade from Arita-cho, Japan resulting in the subtle differences in colour, design, and shape. With time, the bowls may develop a unique change in colour due to the high water absorbency of clay, making each plate personal to its owner.

This unglazed ceramic plate is made from red clay called Beni Zakura (紅桜), which is a type of Japanese camellia. The technique used for firing unglazed clay and baking it during the reduction firing is known as Yakishime (焼き〆)
