Magewappa Bentwood Sake Cup


Magewappa means bentwood ware in Japanese. It is a traditional Japanese woodcraft founded in Odate, Akita prefecture. The technique has been around for 400 years. One slice of thin Japanese cedar is bent into different shapes and used as cups and boxes. The end pieces of the bentwood are bonded using dark cherry bark.
