Minoyaki Porcelain Teapot (Mustard)

Minoyaki Porcelain Teapot (Mustard)

Mino-yaki is a style of pottery produced in the eastern part of Gifu prefecture. It is home to the largest production of porcelain ware in Japan and its broad and wide-ranging pottery traditions stem back 1300 years. As the producer of more than half of Japan’s ceramic wares, the spirit of Mino-yaki is based on a functional craft which combines traditions with modern techniques to create beautiful tableware for the everyday.

Our selected range of Mino-yaki reflects the craft’s versatility which fuses local traditions with western design. The rich porcelain body is created using a translucent glaze of a light caramel-brown, which is called Ame-iro (“飴色”) in the traditional colours of Japan.

This range of teaware combines modern form with a timeless colour to create a practical design that is ideal for brewing a wide range of western and Japanese teas.
